The national celebration of World Wetlands Day, which falls on February 2, was held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Environment, Battaramulla. The event was organized by the Department of Wildlife Conservation with the support of the Central Environmental Authority.

This year’s theme for World Wetlands Day was " Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future”.

Honorable Minister of Environment, Dr. Dhammika Patiabendi, Honorable Deputy Minister Anton Jayakody, Secretary to the Ministry of Environment Mr. K.R. Uduwawala and distinguished guests were participated for this event.
