The ‘Strengthening Women and Youth Engagement in Informal Waste Management in Sri Lanka - SWYFT project is implemented by Janathakshan GTE Ltd, with the funding support of the Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF). The key objective of the launching event is to provide key stakeholders with an overview of the project objectives and anticipated results, as well as to establish possible synergies with national development priorities in terms of proper management of plastic waste.
The project inauguration ceremony was held at 14th of February 2025 at the Auditorium, Ministry of Environment under the chairmanship of Honorable Deputy Environment Minister Mr. Anton Jayakodi. The launching took place with the participation of Key government, private sector and civil society stakeholders.
This project is to be implemented until June 2026 covering the districts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Matale and Kurunegala.
