Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment" was held on 2nd October 2023 at the Hotel Shangrila, Colombo, in the margins of the above 5th Asia Pacific Forum. This was organized by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the UNEP-INC Secretariat.

The aim of the regional consultation is to have strategic discussions at the regional level to prepare for INC-3, scheduled to be held from 13-19 November 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya.
