Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Environment of Sri Lanka was selected for the South Asia sub regional Committee of Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) at its 25th Intergovernmental Meeting held on 23 June 2022.

The APN is an intergovernmental network that promotes policy-oriented research and capacity-building activities related to global change in the region. It consists of 22-member countries in Asia and the Pacific region. Sri Lanka has been engaging in the APN activities since 2000. While the Ministry of Environment acts as the National Focal Point, the Department of Meteorology acts as the Scientific Planning Group Member for APN.

This position is valid for two years.
