Sri Lanka has become a party to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity since 1994 and the Ministry of Environment is the National Focal Point of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. The three main goals of the Convention are conservation of biological diversity, sustainable use of its components and fair & equitable sharing of benefits arising from genetic resources.
Ministry of Environment has identified the importance of formulating an overarching policy that is necessary for the conservation and sustainable utilization of countries’ biodiversity appropriately. Therefore, the Biodiversity Division of the Ministry of Environment has initiated to formulate the National Policy on Biodiversity.
To obtain the valuable inputs from the relevant stakeholders and the interested parties to formulation the proposed National Policy on Biodiversity, Biodiversity Secretariat has developed a questionnaire.
Links to the questionnaires are given below. Please select an appropriate language and kindly assist us in providing your valuable comments.
