First International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies 2020
Air Resource Management division successfully carried out a commemorating event to mark the “The First International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies” on 07 September 2020 under the patronage of the Secretary to the Ministry. The main purpose of it was to raise awareness on Ministry of Health, Central Environmental Authority, University of Moratuwa, National Building Research Organization were served as resource persons at the event. The programme had also been arranged as a web base seminar. In parallel to this, public awareness activities was carried out by publishing a newspaper supplement on “Importance of Air Quality Management” in Daily Mirror newspaper with the assistance of private sector who showed commitment to reduce air pollution. Further public awareness was created through Television programmes.National Symposium 2018 on Air Quality Management
National Symposium 2018 on Air Quality Management in Sri Lanka held on 16, 17 August 2018 was organized by the Ministry under the patronage/Chairmanship of Secretary to the Ministry of Mahaweli Development.Most recent technologies, scientific and policy development associated with air pollution and management of air resources were discussed here.
Air That We Breathe - 2016
“Air That We Breathe - 2016”, Sixth National Symposiumwassuccessfully conducted on May 5-6, 2016 at Waters Edge, Battaramulla under the patronage of H.E. MaithripalaSirisena, the President of Sri Lanka. It focused on identification and promotion of the best practices in air resource management and planning, scenario and economic analysis of air pollution issues.Clean Air 2025 Action Plan was presented at the inaugural session.
